According to a Westmoreland County 911 supervisor, a collision Friday shut down a portion of Route 356 in the Allegheny Township neighborhood of Piper Road for approximately an hour Friday afternoon, injuring three individuals.
The dispatcher reported that one individual was stuck in their car. Three individuals were removed from the site for medical attention: two from one car and one from the other.
There was no information about their injuries. The road was stopped until around 1 p.m. after the incident was reported just before noon.
Due to unfavorable weather, the medical helicopter that first responders requested did arrive, the dispatcher reported. Officers on the location requested that personnel respond as quickly as possible.
On Friday, information could not be obtained from the town police.
