The 65 artists’ works will be on display at the Western Maryland Artist Studio Tour over the course of two weekends, from October 19-20 and October 26-27, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Hilmar Gottesthal, an artist, will have a display at the Ferleman Gallery, 9 N. Center St. in Cumberland. He will also have a show at his Sanctuary Studios in Flintstone.
In the gallery, there will also be brochures with a tour map. The following three artists will be at 28 N. Center: Cole Fiscus, Sean Fiscus, and Will Baxter, who graduated from Frostburg State University recently. Cole Fiscus creates drawings in graphite ink, Sean Fiscus writes poems, and Baxter creates artwork with an animated flair.
Paintings, Jewelry And Art On Show
Jorge Zamorano will have paintings on show at 35-37 N. Center, while Brittany Thomas will have mixed-media paintings, jewelry, and art at 36 N. Center. Photographs by Brooke Barnett along with paintings on canvas by Stephen Manger and latex polycyclic photos will be on show at 208 N. Center.
Arnold d’Epagnier, a furniture artisan, will display his historically influenced pieces at 302 N. Center. Angela Hedderick was his guest artist. She does oil paintings as well as works in colored pencil or ink. She frequently shows her barn at sunrise, the Jersey cows of her neighbors, creeks, and rivers.
The event’s organizer, Chris Sloan, a former senior editor and art director at National Geographic Magazine, will have oil paintings and digital art on show at 514 Washington St. Sloan frequently explores scientific frontiers and tackles global issues in his artwork. There will also be artwork on exhibit by Ed Coffey and Lola Sloan.
While Coffey, a former employee of DreamWorks Studios, focuses on acrylic on canvas & is known for her distinctive works, such as “Monsters Without Borders,” Lola Sloan will showcase her acrylic digital creations. The book has humorous graphics that accompany the poetry.
An Artistic Collection Of Miniature Furniture
Marcy Brack, Jenny Wilson, Donna Godlove, and Aurelia A. Schanzenbacher will exhibit oil, pastels, soft pastels, acrylics, and mixed media, while Stacey Douglas will provide drawings at the C. William Gilchrist Museum of the Arts, located at 104 Washington St. Bobbie Dobbins’ collection of artwork, which includes watercolor, oil, metal, porcelain, wood, and glass, is on display in the main galleries.
Meg Romero’s studio, located at 55 Baltimore St., will feature redesigned vintage chairs with unique fabrics and an artistic collection of miniature furniture. Meanwhile, her husband Dave Romero, who runs Vibrant Images studio, will display his photographs, which are characterized by vivid geometry and bold strokes.
Eight artists will be showcased by Graphicus Atelier at 47 Baltimore St.: Frank Asher, who works in mixed media and ceramics; Haily Fitzpatrick, who paints in acrylic and oil; Anita Teter, who creates watercolor & colored pencil pieces; Patricia Wilt, who paints in pastel, watercolor, and acrylic on rural farm life.
Only the second weekend will see the presence of ceramicist and landscape painter Bobby Croft, as well as leather worker and tailor Laura Crabtree. Meggin Miller’s studio at 741 Fayette St., where she creates through sewing and quilting, will be the meeting place for nine artists.
Stacie Carvich, a music enthusiast, will display pictures of musicians; Annie Kilcoyne, a printmaker and painter; Emily Anne Fielding, selling her earrings; Jason Niner, displaying acrylic paintings and spray paint; Cullen Jacob, showcasing paper collage art; and Sandy Arnold, offering art, soaps, lotions, and sugar scrubs. Silver jeweler Jeanne Gibbons will only be showing her works till last weekend.
Lisa Sheirer, who is only present for the opening weekend, features paintings, collages, prints, books, and other media. Greg Malloy, a lone artist, is well-known for his impressionistic and abstract paintings with their bold lines, vivid colors, and humorous images.
His works will be on show at 534 Greene St. Michelle Perrin Crawford, a painter and photographer, Kaitlyn Wharton, whose works include paintings, prints, mixed-media pieces by Heather Togbetse, watercolors and printmaking by Patricia Crossland, and macrophotography by Marta Fiscus, will also be in the Cumberland area.
