McHENRY — On Tuesday, Garrett College defeated WVU Potomac State 2-0. In the second half, the Lakers (3-7-2) scored both of their points.
Nevaeh Hamborsky scored off a Victoria Kovazh pass at the 58-minute mark. After four minutes, Kovazh scored after a goal set up by Hamborsky. The Lakers had a 3-1 advantage in corners and outshot the Catamounts (1-6-1) 33-7.
Garrett had three shots saved by Sara Tabuena. Potomac State’s Hartley VanGilder made 19 saves. On Thursday, the Lakers host Howard at 6 p.m., and the Catamounts travel to Frederick at 2 p.m.
