MICHIGAN’S ROCHESTER- Hills After killing an elderly homeowner and tying up his wife on Friday while posing as a DTE Energy crew in Rochester Hills, two suspects are wanted by the police. According to authorities, the 72-year-old man killed himself in his own basement while his wife was duct-taped.
After that, the suspects spent 20 minutes searching the home. When law enforcement eventually obtained access to the Ring camera’s footage, early on Friday night, both a picture and a video of the suspects were made public.
Nature of the theft is known
Sheriff Michael Bouchard stated, “Quite frankly, there was so much blood that we’re not sure of the cause.” It’s unclear to us if the injury came from a bullet or blunt impact damage. We’re unsure. Although the nature of the theft is unknown, the victim operated a jewelry shop in Wayne County.
According to Bouchard, they entered the basement with the homeowner on Thursday night at around ten o’clock despite being forbidden from entering. On Friday at around noon, they returned and were once again permitted inside.
“They said there was a gas leak, they let them in and the husband went with them downstairs to check if and where the gas leak may be, and she never saw him again,” stated Bouchard.
One of the males was characterized as being larger and Latino, while the other as being slim and Black. According to Sheriff Bouchard, the men claimed there was a gas leak when they showed up to this Newcastle Drive residence dressed as DTE employees and carrying a placard on their white work van. 
Investigation is ongoing
“Lots of times when people are small business owners they become a target for assets or cash that sometimes they bring home,” Bouchard stated. We’ve observed that in a few upscale break-ins. Thus, that’s another possibility that we’re investigating.”
It is appropriate to see the suspects as dangerous. DTE issued a statement saying, “We hope the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice. Our hearts go out to the victims of this horrific and tragic event.”
