Woman Flees From Drug Rehab, Steals A Man’s Car And Runs Over Him Twice

FLORIDA: After being forced into drug treatment, a Florida lady broke out of the hospital and attacked a 70-year-old man twice with her own automobile, according to the police. It happened at Tampa General Hospital in Brooksville on Saturday, shortly after noon. A hit-and-run collision in the parking lot prompted multiple people to phone 911, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

According to hospital workers, Lisa Nicosia, 41, was rushed to the emergency room previously in the day according to the Marchman Act, that permits a spouse, relative, or friend to request a court order forcing someone into drug rehab against their will. A parking lot is where Nicosia is said to have fled from the emergency room.

Forcefully Removed The Victim Out Of The Vehicle

She allegedly went over to a man, seventy years old, sitting in his car, after that. Authorities claim Nicosia got into the driver’s seat and “forcefully removed” the victim out of the vehicle. Following his dash to the passenger side, the victim reportedly unlocked the door, only to be caught beneath the rear passenger wheel properly by Nicosia’s vehicle takeoff.

The victim’s upper body was covered by Nicosia as she proceeded in reverse, according to deputies. Upon approaching the vehicle, nurses “begged Nicosia to halt the vehicle so that they would render help to the victim,” authorities said. She allegedly drove off, “intentionally running into the victim another time,” however, ignoring them.

When the police arrived, they observed the stolen automobile driving east on Jefferson Street & attempted to stop it. However, it is said that the driver fled. After parking her car next to a shop, she dashed out of the vehicle.

She Is Accused Of Carjacking

Sheriffs apprehended her right away. She “was unable to make rational statements” when detectives tried to interview her at the police station since it appeared that she was still under the effect of drugs. She was vetted at a hospital and then sent to the Hernando County Jail.

She is accused of carjacking, attempted felony murder, resisting arrest without using force, and escaping to avoid capture. She’s incarcerated with no bond. The sufferer was cared for by hospital professionals until he was transported by air to a different hospital. There have been no updates from the police regarding his condition.
