NEW YORK — A lawsuit filed by Hunter Biden alleges that Fox News unlawfully published graphic pictures of him as part of a streaming series. In July, the president’s son filed the first lawsuit against Fox in New York over pictures that appeared in the Fox Nation series “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” which was a “mock trial” of Biden on uncharged charges.
Three weeks later, on the same day that Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 race, he abruptly abandoned the complaint. Hunter Biden filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Manhattan state court on Tuesday, claiming once more that the sharing of private photos without his permission is illegal under New York’s so-called revenge porn legislation.
One current Fox executive and one past executive are named defendants in the new lawsuit. Requests for comment on the reasons behind the suit’s revival were not immediately answered by Tina Glandian, Biden’s lawyer.
The show was taken down
Fox requested that the matter be transferred to federal court in a filing on Tuesday. In a statement, the business said that the second lawsuit was “once again devoid of any merit.”
According to the statement, “Mr. Biden did not file a complaint until he sent a letter in late April 2024 regarding a 2022 streaming program, which is the core complaint.” “In a show of caution, the program was taken down within days of that letter, but Hunter Biden is a well-known individual who has been the focus of numerous investigations and is currently a convicted felon.”
In July, Biden was found guilty on three felony guns counts pertaining to his 2018 revolver purchase. A court hearing on various, fictitious charges was dramatized in the six-part Fox Nation series.
