According to authorities, a guy from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, who gave them information about a shooting was abducted, killed, and thrown over a bridge. He was then put on the missing person’s list for more than six months.
Three Individuals Have Been Taken Into Custody
Authorities said on Friday that three individuals have been taken into custody and are being charged with the murder of the man who vanished in April. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System states that 25-year-old Matthew Whisman was last observed in East Drumore Township, Lancaster County.
Pennsylvania State Police claimed in a news release that they started looking into Whisman after receiving a report about him in early July. After assisting local authorities in their investigation of a shooting that took place in Rising Sun, Maryland, on April 3, 2024, Troopers discovered that Whisman had been beaten and abducted from a residence on Lancaster Pike.
Investigators Found Several Remains
According to a news release from the Pennsylvania State Police, “troopers found out that the victim was murdered, and his body discarded over a bridge through continued investigation.” On August 8, 2024, investigators found several remains in the Conowingo Creek in Cecil County, Maryland.
At this point, three individuals were facing charges related to kidnapping, assault, abusing a corpse, conspiring to commit murder, intimidating witnesses, and other offenses.
Jeremy Absher, a 25-year-old from Mayesville, South Carolina; Steven Gaddis, a 27-year-old from Nottingham, Pennsylvania; also a child, 17, from East Drumore Township. According to a representative for the district attorney’s office in Lancaster County, all three are in jail.
