Cumberland: Two distinct assault and theft crimes were reported to the Cumberland City Police on Thursday. Arrests and following legal actions followed both occurrences. Officers responded to an assault report at the 200 block of Bond Street on Thursday at around 4:45 PM. The victim, who claimed to have been abused by Brendan O’Toole, was contacted.
Brendan O’Toole Was Taken Into Custody
After officers found injuries that matched the victim’s description, O’Toole was taken into custody and brought to the Allegany County Detention Centre. Later, on his own recognisance, he was freed. At before 6:30 AM on the same day, police were called to a business on the 400 block of Virginia Avenue that had received a theft complaint.
Logan Frye Was Taken Into Custody
Logan Frye had previously been prohibited from the premises, but the manager said that he had taken things and run away. Following a hearing before a District Court Commissioner, officers located Frye nearby, took him into custody, and placed him on $1,000 bond. Cumberland, Maryland resident Brendan Riley O’Toole, 22, was accused with second-degree assault. Theft charges were brought against Logan Reece Frye, 25, of Cumberland, Maryland.
