In MDCC Final, Calvary Falls

No. 5 Calvary participated in the Mason-Dixon Christian Conference title game for the seventh straight year. But the Eagles (17-8) lost to Grace 3-0 on Saturday at North Hagerstown High School, failing to win for the second consecutive year.

In the MDCC final the previous year, Grace also swept Calvary. Grace won the first two sets 25-9 and 25-19. While middle hitter Arabella DeValk was cleared to play after missing the previous week due to an injury, Calvary was not fully recovered. Reagan Getz, an outside hitter, sustained an injury during pregame warmups. Paula Ganoe led the Eagles with 13 kills and 17 digs, recording a double-double.

Calvary To Participate In MCST

Madie Robinette had three kills, six assists, and thirteen digs in the end. Allie Maust had nine assists and fourteen digs. Starting on Tuesday, Calvary will participate in the Maryland Christian School Tournament (MCST). The Eagles’ record and schedule strength earned them the top seed. On Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., Calvary will host the victor of the No. 8 Rockbridge Academy and No. 9 Takoma Academy games.
