After Vice President Kamala Harris praised Beyonce’s recently released album, “Cowboy Carter,” stating that she had “redefined a genre and reclaimed country music’s Black roots,” the international diva declared that it was time for “America to sing a new song” and elect Harris nearly seven months later.
At a pro-abortion event in her hometown of Houston on Friday, Beyoncé announced her support for Harris, the Democratic presidential contender, accompanied by singer and actress Kelly Rowland.Texas has some of the nation’s strictest abortion regulations.. “We are at the precipice of an incredible shift,” she stated. “Your vote is one of the most valuable tools, and we need you.”
Right now is our moment. “America needs to sing a new song,” Beyonce added.”A tune that started 248 years ago.” According to the pop artist, she wasn’t there as a politician or a celebrity. “I’m here as a mother who cares deeply about the world, my children and all of our children,” she stated. “A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies.”
Harris being all time fan of Beyonce
Thus, the online community that supports Harris and the pop star’s fan base, known as the K-Hive and Beyhive, respectively, have come together. As the Beyhive and rally attendees are well aware, Harris has been a long-time fan of Beyoncé.While serving as vice president, Harris went to her concert and made an appearance at demonstrations for “Freedom,” the pop star’s song released in 2016.
Beyonce noted in an Instagram post when she released her album earlier this year that it was “born out of an experience” that occurred years ago in which “she did not feel welcomed.”” Harris, who has Black and Indian ancestry and was the nation’s first female vice president, supported the idea.
“We appreciate you reminding us that we should never feel limited by what other people think our lane is,” she wrote on X. “You have reclaimed the Black roots of country music and redefined a genre.” We are all still motivated by your songs.
Since Taylor Swift endorsed Harris in September, this is the second well-known pop star endorsement Harris has gotten. Prior to Election Day, Harris and former President Donald Trump are deadlocked in the popular vote, 48% to 48%, according to a survey issued Friday by the New York Times and Siena College. If Beyonce’s endorsement was successful in shifting voters “to the left,” only time will tell.”
