A woman from Maryland perishes in a golf cart accident at a private club

After being flung from a golf cart close to a private club in Annapolis, a Maryland woman passed away this week.

At approximately 7:24 p.m. on Saturday, Mary Blasetti, 32, suffered “life-threatening injuries in an incident involving an E-Z-GO golf cart,” the Anne Arundel County Police Department reported on Wednesday. Near a members-only golf club, the cart struck a dip in the road, ejecting her off it.

The golf cart’s driver, a 32-year-old woman, was unharmed in the crash. Nobody knew who she was. On November 11, 2024, Mrs. Blasetti died after being taken to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, according to police.

“The crash is being looked into by the Traffic Safety Section.”

According to Justin Mulcahy, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the occurrence seemed to be an accident, but an investigation is still underway.

Mulcahy said to WJZ, “This is a very tragic, unfortunate situation.” “Our hearts go out to everyone impacted and we’re going to continue investigating it with the State’s Attorney’s Office just to determine what exactly happened here.”
