The suspect in the drive-by shooting in Hartford on Tuesday afternoon that murdered a 20-year-old mother and her 4-month-old infant has a $3 million bond, according to police, and they are looking for him.
Lance Morales, 23, is being sought by investigators; his last known residence was in Waterbury.
Police think that the Massachusetts license plate 3NEB35, which he was last seen using in a white Infinity Q70, is a misused one. According to police, they think he also has access to a number of additional cars. Morales should be viewed as armed and dangerous, so anyone who sees him is advised to phone 911 and avoid approaching him.
Mother and the baby passed away
According to authorities, Jessiah Mercado, 20, and her 4-month-old baby, Messiah Diaz, both of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away after someone dropped three people off at the hospital on Tuesday.
According to authorities, a man in his 20s was also shot, although his wounds are not life-threatening. They said there were no injuries to the driver of the car the victims were in.
According to police, the reason was a personal argument over a car in Waterbury and Hartford, and the perpetrator and victims were thought to be acquaintances.
According to Hartford Police Department Lt. Aaron Boisvert, an automobile came up behind another car and began shooting.
“Absolutely awful, truly awful. That’s all I have to say,” Boisvert remarked. According to him, Morales is charged with two counts of murder, murder under unusual circumstances, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree assault, and first-degree criminal attempt to conduct assault.
Additionally, police are looking for the used firearm. Investigators are working on the case. Police are asking anyone with knowledge to contact them at 860-722-8477.
