According to California authorities, adoptive parents have been taken into custody on charges of torturing and killing their 10-year-old son.
According to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office on November 21, Alejandra Marin, 51, and Juan Sanchez Moreno, 59, were taken into custody on several charges, including murder, torture, and child abuse in connection with the death of their son.
On Thursday, Nov. 21, deputies reported receiving a call regarding a youngster in need of medical assistance, and they responded at a residence in the Moreno Valley at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Medical distress
Deputies said that a 10-year-old youngster was in “medical distress” when they arrived. After being transported to a hospital by paramedics, the boy’s condition deteriorated, according to deputies.
Deputies reported that he was declared dead.
Deputies reported that they had detained both of the boy’s adoptive parents after preliminary investigations revealed “signs of possible neglect and abuse.”
According to deputies, an investigation is still underway. According to jail records, Marin and Moreno are being held without bond. Their court date is set for Tuesday, November 26.
Los Angeles is roughly 65 miles southeast of Moreno Valley.
