Rams’ Robinson to play Sunday after DUI arrest

Coach Sean McVay said on Wednesday that the Los Angeles Rams will not punish wide receiver Demarcus Robinson for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints following his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

After being seen traveling at over 100 miles per hour on U.S. 101 northbound, Robinson was taken into custody in Woodland Hills, California, at around 5:13 a.m. on Monday.

Hours after he grabbed a touchdown in Sunday night’s Rams loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, he was arrested.

The team will “let the legal process take place” and allow the league to go through its disciplinary procedure, McVay stated on Wednesday.

Let the legal process take place

The team will “let the legal process take place” and allow the league to go through its disciplinary procedure, McVay stated on Wednesday.

After Wednesday’s practice, Robinson stated that he has not received a response from the NFL and has no idea when the legal proceedings would conclude. On Monday afternoon, he had a meeting with McVay and the Rams executive management.

He expressed his hope that his teammates will be able to learn from his error without experiencing a similar situation themselves. “I’m sure no one wants to experience it, but it’s all a lesson in life that we can all take away.”

And I will undoubtedly accept responsibility. And it has already taught me something. To try to get over it, I’ve already been through a lot. To be very honest, I don’t want any other members of our organization or the men in our rooms to experience anything similar.”

Robinson is in his second season in Los Angeles and his seventh overall. This season, he has caught 26 passes for 384 yards and six touchdowns.
