After responding to a complaint of a guy carrying a pistol exiting a bank, a police officer was shot and killed in a Chicago suburb on Friday.
According to the police department’s Facebook page, 40-year-old Oak Park Detective Allan Reddins was shot once at around 9:30 a.m. and later declared dead at a hospital.
The suspect was receiving treatment at a hospital after being shot in the leg. Reddins, a Chicago resident, joined the police force in 2019. Chicago is to the west of Oak Park.
