FROSTBURG — On Monday, Mollie Rebuck and Mason Salvadge of Frostburg State were selected the Mountain East Conference’s Offensive Players of the Week for both the women’s and men’s soccer teams. Salvadge, a freshman who recently graduated from Allegany, scored his first goal for the team last Wednesday against Salem.
The Bobcats won 2-1, and it was the game-winning play that occurred in the second half. Then, on Sunday, at No. 20 Davis & Elkins, he scored the game-winning goal. Since moving up to Division II, Frostburg had not defeated a rated opponent prior to this triumph.

Salvadge and Liam Hamilton of Fort Hill shared the title of Area Offensive Player of the Year in the previous autumn. Salvadge led Alco with 15 assists and finished second on the Campers with 16 goals. The Bobcats (4-1) travel to Concord on Sunday and West Liberty on Wednesday.
Rebuck, a freshman as well, scored the first goal of her college career in the Bobcats’ 3-1 victory over Point Park. She contributed one goal and one assist in Wheeling’s 4-0 defeat. She totaled six shots and 97 minutes played in two games. The Bobcats (4-1) go to West Liberty on Wednesday and then play Fairmont State at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
