Four Cumberland people are being held for suspected robbery and kidnapping

CUMBERLAND: According to Cumberland Police, four city residents have been brought into custody in relation to the kidnapping, assault, and robbery of a man on September 6. The guy was transported from a Bedford Street residence to a place on the McMullen Highway, where he was abused before being taken from his vehicle.

Following an investigation by the Cumberland Police, Maryland State Police, and C3I Unit, Sincere J. Issac, Xavier Z. Barger, and James Dylan Miller, all 22 years old, as well as 32-year-old Kevin F. Hupe, were taken into custody on accusations of attempted first-degree murder, kidnapping, and associated offenses.

Victim admitted to hospital

The attack occurred in the 16000 block of McMullen Highway at approximately two in the morning. The 41-year-old victim was transported by paramedics to UPMC Western Maryland to receive treatment for his injuries. In the Allegany County Detention Center on Monday, all of the people who had been arrested were still being held pending bond hearings in district court.

 Numerous interviews and the execution of search warrants at various sites throughout the city were part of the investigation, according to police, that resulted in the arrests. The Cumberland Police received assistance in executing the search warrants from the Special Operations Response Team of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.
