A man threw salsa jars at Cumberland County Giant patrons and staff, according to the police

CARLISLE: According to the police, a man burst into a Cumberland County Giant’s front door, jumped on automobiles, and then flung salsa jars at the staff and patrons within. The incident occurred on Wednesday about 8:15 a.m., according to Carlisle police. 

The initial report concerned someone on the 200 block of East High Street leaping on cars and breaking the windshield. Officers responded to another report from the Giant on the 200 block of South Spring Garden Street while they were there. Authorities were notified that a man was hurling objects inside the establishment and had damaged the front door.

“Upon arrival to Giant, police observed Dalitso Sakala throwing glass salsa jars at customers and employees near the end cap of aisle 4, causing broken glass to be all over the floors and creating a hazardous condition,” the statement read.

“Sakala refused to obey lawful orders to drop the jar and stop advancing on officers.” Sakala and the police reportedly got into a confrontation. Sakala resisted arrest, according to the police, so they had to injure one of the officers as they were taking him into custody inside the store.
