SWANTON: The Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal reports that on Tuesday, fire broke out in the living room wall of a two-story home located at 11520 Savage River Road in Swanton, causing significant damage.
Dravon James Baker, the owner and occupant, found the fire in a living room electrical outlet; no injuries were recorded. It is stated that the resident tried to put out the fire before the Bloomington Volunteer Fire Department arrived.
According to the fire marshal’s office, the 7:45 p.m. fire, which attracted 50 volunteer firefighters to the site, took about 15 minutes for the firefighters to contain it. Authorities calculated that the structure would lose $75,000 in property and its contents would lose $25,000.
