HONEY PATH: Following the discovery of around 30 dogs living in “horrific conditions,” the Honea Path Police Department said on Sunday that they had detained a lady.
According to the police, a number of the dogs—two of them puppies—were wandering the property and the nearby roads, while another was dead and several others were kept in tiny cages.
According to authorities, this led to an investigation into animal cruelty that continued late into the night. Numerous dogs, according to the police, are still on the premises and cannot be apprehended.
“Throughout the week, efforts will be made to find and care for these additional dogs,” stated Honea Path Police Chief Miller. According to the police, Betty Ordonez of Greenville, South Carolina, was arrested after detectives gathered evidence from the site.
She faces the following charges:
14 instances of mistreating animals
14 instances of noncompliance with the DHEC’s domestic animal vaccination regulation
One offense for neglecting to bury a deceased animal
Seven instances of dogs running loose
While awaiting a bond hearing, Ordonez is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center. “These dogs were living in appalling conditions, and I want to thank everyone for working together to find an exceptional solution for these animals,” Miller continued.
