“We started around 20 years ago,” Anne Potts shared. “We intended to add up to the existing list of attractions in Cumberland here.” The historic ghost tours of Cumberland are led by the Potts throughout the year. The walks start at the Washington Street Library and meander around the city’s historic center.

Renowned for its extensive history, the Gordon-Roberts House is a noteworthy stop on the journey. Anne Potts added, “People share things regarding events that they have experienced at a few of the locations,” alluding to the strange encounters that some individuals have had while living in or strolling through the city streets.
These walking excursions during the night not only discuss the strange, haunted, and unusual, but they also describe the fascinating history that may be unearthed with a little research. According to Anne Potts, “We donate all the funds that we raise to local charities.”

The Neighborhood Is “Highly Active” With Spirits
“We try to bring historians in to explore if anything happened at any of the houses (situated on Washington Street),” added Potts. “The researchers truly assist us out.” If someone told the Potts couple about a strange event they might have seen in the neighborhood, they could get in touch with local historians to find out if a long-forgotten crime, accident, or death had taken place on one of the district’s historic properties.
The pair had shown a few houses on Washington Street to paranormal investigators, who discover that the neighborhood is “highly active” with spirits from other worlds. Keith Potts claimed that his experience of the ghost tour is incredibly fascinating and reasonably priced. “Ours is truly reasonable,” he defended.
