CUMBERLAND: On October 30, there will be the yearly Marsha L. Thomas Memorial Halloween Parade presented by the South Cumberland Business and Civic Association. Those who would like to take part are asked to submit their applications by October 11 at the latest.
The procession starts at 7 p.m. and will go along the same path as previous years, passing through Kirk Auto Sales and West Third Street, then along East First Street, Virginia Avenue, and West Industrial Boulevard before coming to an end.
Judges will evaluate costumed mummers
Applications to join in the parade can still be requested by calling the Halloween Parade committee at 301-722-6759 or email [email protected].
Judges will evaluate costumed mummers (up to 12 years old) in Smith Park, which is situated between Race and Seymour streets, starting at 5:30 p.m. After that, the mummers will lead the procession along the parade route.
Children do not have to live in Cumberland to participate in the costume contest; registration is not required. Businesses or individuals who would like to contribute to assist defray parade costs may reach out to the Halloween Parade committee at the phone number or email address provided above.
