The husband of a 46-year-old lady who vanished from their Texas home without her car or phone is coming out while the hunt goes on.
The Wylie Police Department earlier stated in a Facebook post that Melonie Ballenger was reported missing by her husband Daniel on Monday, November 4, at approximately 6:35 a.m. local time.
Melonie and Daniel went to bed on Sunday, November 3, but when he woke up the next morning, she was gone, Daniel told CBS station KTVT.
“She left with nothing,” he informed her. Police told PEOPLE on Thursday, Nov. 7, that they could verify she was last seen at her home at approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday.
Family Failed to Locate Her
Daniel claimed that after he and their daughters failed to locate her, he called the police. Melonie left home without her phone or car, according to police reports, but Daniel told the publication that she also departed without her wallet, cash, or prescription drugs.
Family members informed the outlet that she stayed at home on Sunday because she felt ill, while her husband said she was slated for heart surgery.
Authorities have previously scoured neighborhoods, ponds, and forested areas close to the family’s house, but they have not yet located her, according to KTVT.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue (CLEAR) Alert, and Sgt. Donald English told PEOPLE on Nov. 7 that they are “still searching various locations and following up on tips.”
In an update released on November 7, police stated that they are “asking residents to review their surveillance video for any sightings of Melonie.”
Daniel said he wanted his wife to understand that her family only wants her home while the hunt goes on.
The husband told, “I love her. I hope she’s safe”. He added, “her daughters are missing her and we just want her back. Please come home.”
