CUMBERLAND: According to Cumberland Police, a city man was detained without bond on Friday after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault. The guy attacked and gained access into the home of a homeowner on Kent Avenue, who was seriously hurt in the incident on Monday.
Following the acquisition of an arrest warrant, Christopher Jacob Seifarth, 34, was taken into custody on accusations of first- and second-degree assault, home invasion, reckless endangerment, and attempted first-degree murder.
Taken into custody
Although the inquiry had begun when the warrant was issued, Seifarth was not found until Thursday, when he was hauled into custody, according to the police.
After reporting the event late on Monday, the victim was seen by ambulance workers from the Cumberland Fire Department and transferred to UPMC Western Maryland for additional care, according to police.
Seifarth was hit with an unidentified instrument, according to the victim, who gave his name to the police. According to an inquiry, the victim’s home in the 1000 block of Kent Avenue had been forced entry. At that time and place, police claimed, they found a hammer that might have been used in the incident.
