Justin Bingham, 40, died abruptly on Saturday night when canyoneering with three other climbers toward Heaps Canyon’s exit, as reported by the National Parks Service. When Bingham plummeted to his death, they were traveling the lengthy and strenuous canyon according to their timetable.

Around six o’clock in the evening, first responders from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Zion National Park Technical Search and Rescue Team raced to the scene and began providing assistance.
