KEYSER— On Thursday, Keyser overcame Allegany in five sets. With scores of 21-25, 31-29, 23-25, 25-11, and 15-7, the Golden Tornado (6-4) emerged victorious. For the Campers (2–7), Ava Strother completed with five digs and 18 assists.
Mackenzie Monahan recorded 11 kills, 9 digs, and a block, and Hailee Isom provided 15 assists with 8 digs and an ace. Keyser’s statistical data was not supplied. In the junior varsity match, Allegany prevailed 21-25, 25-20, and 25-16.
Jailyn & Johnson scored four points
With nine aces, two digs, and a kill, Chelsea Martinez led the Campers in scoring. Three kills, two aces, two digs, and an assist were all collected by Rylee Shaffer. Three aces, two kills, and seven digs were provided by Claire Buskirk. On Monday, both teams play at home. At 6:30 p.m., Allegany takes on No. 2 Fort Hill, and at 7:15 p.m., Keyser takes on No. 2 Northern.
On Thursday, Mountain Ridge defeated Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, in five games behind a triple-double from Kealana Pua’auli. The Miners (6-3) won three straight, 25-20, 25-17, and 15-8, after dropping the first two, 25-20 and 25-17. Ryan Whitehead, Kayden Wilson, and Anne Baker all recorded double-doubles, while Pua’auli finished with 19 kills, 21 digs, and 10 points.
Whitehead got 17 kills, 12 digs and five points, Wilson recorded 12 points, 12 digs and two aces, while Baker finished with 10 points, 11 digs and three aces. Aubreigh Wilson contributed four aces, six digs, and 21 assists. The JV game was won 2-0 by Meyersdale. For the Miners’ JVs, Lainey Clark and Jailyn Johnson both scored four points. Bishop Walsh will host Mountain Ridge on Monday at 6:00 p.m.
