Although the cause of death is still unknown, authorities say a hiker who vanished in the White Tank Mountains of Arizona in April was discovered dead seven months later.
According to Sgt. Calbert Gillett of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Amber Barnett’s body was found at White Tank Mountain Regional Park close to Waddell on Sunday, Nov. 24.
In an email, Gillett stated, “A cause of death has not yet been determined.” When Barnett did not return from a trek on the Mesquite Trail in Waddell, her family filed the first missing person’s report.
An initial statement from the sheriff’s office stated that deputies had been sent to the area on Sunday in response to “possible human remains reported by a hiker.”
Anthony Merlina, Barnett’s son, honored her on Facebook on Tuesday, November 26. Merlina wrote, “My lovely mother has gone to be with the Lord.”
Missing Lady Discovered
“She was discovered seeking the Lord while doing what she loved in the White Tanks Mountain.” “I am forever grateful for the example she showed me,” he said.
She dedicated her life to serving Jesus and interceding and praying for others. Although she will be missed, she will never be forgotten. I’m grateful, mama.
Every day I miss you. According to a missing person’s flier, Barnett was last seen in Phoenix on April 1.
She was “last known to be hiking in the White Tank Mountains on Tuesday, 4/2/2024,” according to an updated missing persons flier.
At the west end of Ramada Way, in Lot 7, her vehicle was discovered. Her automobile contained her purse and keys.
