Motorcyclist killed in frostburg crash

FROSTBURG —According to the Allegany County Department of Emergency Services, a biker was killed late Monday morning when his vehicle lost control on Welsh Hill Road and crashed into a driveway, colliding with a parked pick.

DES acting director Roger Bennett said the unnamed crash victim died from his injuries after being transported by a DES ambulance from Frostburg to UPMC Western Maryland at 10:50 a.m.

With the help of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, the Frostburg Police Department is carrying out the investigation. The ambulance ground transfer was also aided by a Maryland State Police Trooper 5 crew.

After being notified by the Allegany County 911 Joint Communications Center, the Frostburg State University Police and the volunteer fire departments from Frostburg and Shaft also arrived on the scene.
