Mountain Ridge Remains Flawless As Northern boys Defeat Fort Hill

Cumberland: The game-winning goal in the 67th minute by Brayden Upole gave Northern a 3-2 victory over No. 5 Fort Hill on Tuesday. At the half, the Huskies (1-5 in the Western Maryland Athletic Conference, 2-6 overall) had a 2-1 advantage. Lucas Evans’ goal, assisted by Vincent Largent, with 28:01 left in the game tied the score for the Sentinels (4-4-1 overall, 1-4 WestMAC).

Jakob Fullerton’s Assistance

Jakob Fullerton assisted Upole’s winner. In the fifteenth minute, Fullerton’s Chace Winebrenner assist set up the first goal of the match. Sam Spencer of Fort Hill tied the score in the 22nd minute with help from Jacob Bone, but with 2:02 left in the half, Winebrenner scored a goal off an assist from Fullerton to give Northern the lead at the break. Liam Hamilton, the co-offensive player of the year, was suspended for one game following his red card against Southern on September 24.

John Reinhardt Is Back

As a result, Fort Hill was without his services. John Reinhardt is back in the Sentinels lineup for the first time since August. Mountain Ridge defeated University 1-0 to increase its record to 8-0 thanks to its seventh shutout in eight games. Eight zero Miners scored. Charlie Simpson scored the opening goal in the 12th minute with help from Elijah Cooper, and Cooper’s goal in the 26th minute gave Mountain Ridge a 2-0 lead at the half. With 30:53 left, Trenton Diamond scored the game’s last goal with Cooper’s help. Mountain Ridge outperformed University in both shots (13–8) and corner kicks (5–4). Miners keeper James DeCarlo made four saves, while University keeper Finn Worstorff made five. At the interval, the Miners had a 2-0 lead and had won the JV match 3-1. Bex Litton scored one goal and Marshall Vogtman scored two. Patrick Shepetuk contributed a helper.
