HOMESTEAD, Fla.— This weekend, the Xfinity Series Round of 8 will resume at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The race on Saturday is the round’s middle event. AJ Allmendinger’s victory in Las Vegas last weekend guaranteed him a place in the Championship 4.
Chandler Smith (+8), Cole Custer (+16), and Justin Allgaier (+32 points) are all in the running for a transfer. Austin Hill (-8 points), Jesse Love (-13), Sam Mayer (-23) and Sammy Smith (-53), are those who are below the cutline.

START: At 4 p.m., the order to start engines will be given. At 4:10 p.m., the green flag is expected to wave.
PRE-RACE: At 12 p.m., the garage opens. At 3:25 p.m., driver introductions will take place. At 3:52 p.m., the invocation will be delivered. At 3:53 p.m., the national anthem will be played.
DISTANCE: The event takes place on a 1.5-mile track and consists of 200 laps (300 miles).
STAGES: Lap 45 marks the completion of Stage 1. Lap 90 marks the end of Stage 2.
STARTING LINEUP: On Friday, Xfinity qualifying is set to start at 5:10 p.m.
TV/RADIO: The race will be televised by the CW Network at 4 p.m. On CW, coverage starts at 3:30 p.m. At 3:30 p.m., Motor Racing Network coverage starts. … The MRN broadcast will air on Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.

LAST TIME: After starting 13th, Sam Mayer won the event the previous year. Second place went to Riley Herbst. Third was John Hunter Nemechek. Cole Custer finished 13th despite winning the pole position and leading a race-high 114 of 200 laps.
