Authorities say they have now detained the suspected gunman in connection with the shooting murder of a Sonic Drive-thru employee on San Antonio’s Northwest Side, months after they began searching for a suspect.

According to a U.S. Marshals press release, a 17-year-old man was taken into custody in Dallas on Tuesday, October 22, in connection with the July 7 shooting death of Daniel Lacy Shrewsbury, aged 33.

A Teenager Charged With Shooting & Killing

Adiah Namir Roberson, a teenager, is charged with shooting & killing Shrewsbury right at the Sonic Drive-In, which is situated at 5510 Babcock Road, between Hamilton Wolfe and Huebner Road.

A fight broke out between Roberson and Shrewsbury, a manager in the Sonic store, over money. When Shrewsbury was shot at and a gun was drawn, the altercation intensified.

“After trying to buy food with fake money, the arrested person and two others are accused of killing the manager,” the release reads.
