CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Following an alleged pistol theft from a Shippensburg University fraternity party, one individual is in jail and the other is on the run. The allegations against Emilio Daman Frye-Reyes include felony conspiracy to commit robbery and threatening to cause imminent bodily harm.
He is still being held in Cumberland County on a $30,000 bond. Kyjarese Damani Hicks of Chambersburg, who is believed to have been a co-conspirator with Frye-Reyes, is accused of felony robbery, felony theft, felony receiving stolen property, misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor terroristic threats, and summary harassment.
Victim left the party
On September 7, just before two in the morning, the Pennsylvania State Police were summoned to the Sunbeam Court neighborhood in Shippensburg. The two victims, according to the troopers, had both been to a Shippensburg University fraternity party earlier in the evening.
The first victim reportedly admitted to police that he had driven his parent’s car to the party and discovered his parent’s firearm was inadvertently remained in the car. Stowing that luggage in the car’s trunk along with it in a black satchel. The victim left the party, thinking it was locked, telling his companion to keep an eye on the car.
According to troopers, after about thirty minutes, the victim went back to the party while the other victim, who was carrying the bag that was meant to be in the car, was calling for him to come over. At that point, the first victim supposedly informed the second that he had been threatened and that Kyjarese Hicks, Emilio Frye-Reyes, and a third person—who has not been charged—had taken the gun out of the bag and fled. At this point, a 911 call was made, and troopers eventually showed up.
The same morning, according to emails the victim sent to Troopers, the phone’s location on E Orange Street in Shippensburg was indicated by the Find My iPhone feature for the lost phone, which the PSP believes may have been taken along with the firearm.
Suspects involved
The aforementioned person, who was not prosecuted, resided at that address. After the first victim left the party, troopers allegedly spoke with the second victim a day later, during which time the victim was allegedly seen standing with two other guys, one of whom was Kyjarese Hicks.
After purportedly making an investigation into it, Hicks is said to have taken the bag from the victim by force, opened it, and extracted the revolver that was inside. Following that, Hicks and the other individual—who was thought to be Emilio Frye-Reyes—left for the Shippensburg Spiritual Center.
Emilio Frye-Reyes is still incarcerated for his suspected involvement in the crime. Kyjarese Hicks is still at large at this moment, therefore anyone with information regarding his location should get in touch with the appropriate authorities.
