A mummified body was found on a South Bay home’s toilet in a Union City missing person investigation, but it wasn’t even the person the police were searching for. About two months ago, when a family member asked the police to stop by a house to see how 95-year-old Nadine Parker was doing, the mystery began to come to light.
Officers discovered a graphic finding inside the Oakland senior living facility where Parker had been sent two years prior. On the east side of Union City, the house is nestled on a peaceful cul-de-sac. Without the rubbish, it would be simple to overlook.
Bruce Chan, a neighborhood, claimed that “the front yard and the backyard were filled with trash.” “Trash was piled up to almost ten feet high. The location always appeared incredibly eerie, so we were always curious about it. However, the discovery of a man’s mummified body on the home’s toilet startled the neighbors.
In poor health
According to Union City Police Department Sgt. Brandon Hayward, the remains were present for weeks or even months. Police frequently discover individuals dead in restrooms, he noted. The remains had begun to dry out due to the enclosed bathroom’s temperature, even though the body was not covered with fabric.
According to the police, the residence was in terrible shape overall, with rubbish all over the place. Another individual was discovered alive but in poor health, with mold developing in his ear. He is often seen strolling along the street, according to the neighbors.
“We see him about three times a week or so,” Chan stated. “Again, he’s always been non-threatening, but I always wondered how he was cared for.” Ameneh Safarazdeh, a neighbor, remarked, “I saw the older guy and the youngest one,” “He walks to Safeway early in the morning. Each day.”
According to the police, one of Nadine Parker’s two sons is the man they discovered alive. Parker, who had Alzheimer’s, was the subject of a silver alert from Union City Police in the middle of August. Sgt. Hayward stated that although she was discovered safe, the son had a mental disorder of some kind.
They claim they think his sibling died of natural causes and that the body in the bathroom might be his. In order to positively identify the deceased, the coroner’s office is still investigating the cause of death and attempting to match DNA. Once more, Union City Police do not think foul play was a factor.
